Finding higher ground

Hello Everyone,
I'm using basic version of pc dmis CAD and I wonder if there is an option to automatically find where the higher ground starts. Thanks.

  • From your drawing I see three surfaces. Or is this a blown up exaggerated view? How big of step is there from the bottom to top surface? What is he callout on the print? Is Higher Ground a new GD&T symbol I do not know about?

you do know that people use CMM's for more than just layout inspections right? Not every measurement needs a callout.
  • Well lets see. Um, I have been a plate layout inspector over 35 years and a CMM Programmer over 30 years so I have to admit I have put more than one thing on my cmm with out a print because I have done a lot of reverse engineering and was creating cad and a print. So what is your point? Or you just being a hater?
The OP was vague at best as to what he is doing or trying to do I was just trying to get him to give more info so that maybe people could post something that is helpful to him unlike your post.

So, pray tell what other uses do people use the cmm other than layouts? And saying have sex on one does not count because I have been there and done that too :-)
