it does it when I try to "execute block" (load a probe) and it also does it when changing to DCC mode after manual alignment... sometimes the Z axis, sometimes not... plenty of travel left.
Lessen your Check values, if you have 1,1 right now try .5,1
I should note, that this will impact your programs ability to 'find' a touchpoint. It will not travel as far to locate a surface if there isn't stock at the nominal location. So you may want to alternate your Check values before/after loadprobe commands.
