Not a problem with auto circles. The actual prehit value, when measuring a hole diameter, maxes out at the hole radius minus the probe radius. In other words, if the prehit value is set very large, it defaults to starting all the hits from the center of the hole.
If you set the prehit at 0.25, the find hole spiral pattern would go out a max of 0.25 from the target center. Once if finds the hole, and begins to measure the diameter, it will take hits out radially from that point. It will not go the full prehit distance while measuring the diameter.
