Profile Result Question

Can someone please explain the attached results? My print has a bilateral profile of surface |⌓|.016|A|G|

so .016 total, .008 in each direction. I am using legacy so I have +.008 and -.008.

why is one of the points showing .0102 deviation yet my total result is .0157. Shouldn't the total result be twice the .0102, so .0204?

  • It's one of the several ways that PC-DMIS can report profile incorrectly. FCF profile changes with the version of PC-DMIS you use, but asking the software to use ISO avoids this particular error in many of the recent versions (2016 and later).

Just look at your worst-case min/max and double that deviation. I just gave up, export to excel, and process profiles, and datum shifts in a way that will be right because I'm controlling it.
