protected mode?

We use protected mode for the operators to run parts to prevent them from making changes, but when the program errors out or stops there's nothing I can do but start it over in unprotected mode to see the problem, this could take hours, is there a better way?

    Does it display the feature ID in the lower-left corner of the screen when the error happens (and/or in the execute window)? If so, jot it down, then when in un-protected mode, simply go to that feature and start the execution from the feature BEFORE the problem so you can see what happens.
