Thanks dude. GD&T seems to have redundancies for this sort of the thing. I'm wondering why they would do it with position instead of concentricity or runout.
Does it mean something different without the diametric symbol? I'm thinking about making a post about this because I have several prints on my desk that have position callouts on cylinders without diametric symbols - when it seems like they should be there.
Yes, it means that the position is only valid in one direction. Here, it does not make sense to have it in one direction so it is fairly safe to assume that the symbol was "forgotten". But, if you have position connected to a surface it is normally in one direction. Rounded slots for example, should have individual one-direction-positions for the length and width (not Ø position).
This print should also have diametric symbols, correct? They didn't include a datum A on the print but I found a similar print with datum A as the OD of the part. I don't know that our shop can hold this tolerance.
