In your example, UAME would be the size of the fully formed plug that would fit into the gage. Local Size would be the maximum size of a two point measurement. (Think Telescoping Gage). Opposed points are another name for a two point measurement. In order to be fully compliant with the Y14.5 standard both local and UAME should be reported. In practice only one or the other are often reported.
