Small Probe diameter during calibration

Hi guys, due to the amount of vibration in the shop here we have to switch between analog and TTP. I have been using Analog up until today but then I switched over to TTP and I'm getting small probe diameters on calibration.

I am trying to calibrate a TP20 system and my probe diameter keeps measuring around 1.972 (2mm ball) I have adjusted the touch speed from 6mm/Sec all the way down to 2mm/Sec with no changes in probe diameter.

Do I need to go into the Probe force settings and start messing around ? and if I do this will it interfere with my Analog settings?

Thanks!

  • Just did 3 tests, 1 angle only
    hits/levels size/StdDev
    5/1 3.972 / 0.002
    9/3 3.978 / 0.002
    29/5 3.973 / 0.003

As you can see, since they are all "basically" the same, I use 5/1 when calibrating. This was done on the Validator.

Testing tells you what you need to do to get the data you can trust. 0.005mm size range and 0.003mm max StdDEV
