Problem measuring in the X direction Manually

"I am measuring this Ring Gage Manually both the Height and the Width. When I move the probe in the Y direction, I get a good Deviation from Nominal. Then I try doing hits in the X Direction and it’s showing out half a mil. But if I turn the Ring Gage in the Y direction to measure the other half, it comes out good. I hope I explained this well enough lol. Pretty much my X direction is showing out but when I rotate it to the Y Direction, it shows up good." I tried changing Wrist Angles and its still showing a half mil deviation. I am in contact with Hexagon but just wanted to see if anybody has ran into this problem before. I have attached an image.
