Silicon nitride tip calibration issues

We have recently started to replace our ruby tip probes with silicon nitride tips. However, we haven't been able to use any of them because we keep getting the "probe calibration exceed limit" error. All of our ruby tips calibrate fine. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Any trouble shooting ideas? I've done everything I can think of.

  • It ended up being a corrupt probe file. Our CMM just stopped one day. we have an old Sheffield controller/ jog box and we thought the controller was just dead. so we ordered a new one with the same result. PQI ended up finding the problem and we had to delete every probe file. Didn't find out it was this specific probe until I went to make the file and the same thing happened.
