If my memory serves correctly, I think I've seen something like this before when leveling a plane in the wrong axis.
A plane was created and the intent was to have a plane as 0,0,1 so it would be leveled in the alignment as Zplus.
For some reason when the data was analyzed the software did something along the lines of 1,0,0 for the plane.
Once the level took place, the graphics display flipped the probe in the display window.
I could be way off here, but worth a look. Maybe the plane vectors are just enough skewed to cause your graphics issue?
