Signal when CMM is running...

Hello!

Looking into diffferent ways of continously making stats about how much a CMM is running. I know Hexagon has a box and software for the task, it sounded like it was cloud based though, which is not a viable solution. It sounded like you could get it to give an electrical signal.

Is there anything in the software besides the events that could be used to this end?

Events would be the best way of doing it.

What are you after? Real time info, or just usage stats, you could use simple file write commands to create a log for analysis purposes.

i.e.

02/0623 07:32:15 Program Start
02/0623 07:41:18 Program End

etc...

Hi,

It's best to write straight away to an SQL database, which makes it easier for the statistics.

you could also insert a small script at the end of the measurement routine, which then transfers the current runtime to a database.
If the variant with events is undesirable

Both, might as well dig out what I can while in there. My layout right now is to extract calibration and program running time through events in PC-DMIS, and physical running and temperature through timed events.

Might be trying to write to an OPC server.

Trying to avoid solutions involving changing the program code, it's not really viable in this case.
