I am problems with PC-DMIS not wanting to launch the Power Point work instructions that i have inserted into the program. I insert them offline, and then try to test the program at the machine and I get a Failure to Launch error. Then the icon disappears. We are currently running the 2020R2 version. It worked fine in the 2019 version.
Do you have "link" checked when inserting the file? If so, it will locate the file based on the file location and if it's locally found on your offline computer and not in the same location on the online computer, it will fail to launch. If you want to embed the PP to the program, then uncheck "link".
If that is not the case, do you have PowerPoint installed on the online computer?
+1 Your power point needs to be either on the CMM hard drive or an accessible network location for it to work. Most of our set up instructions (JPEGs) are embedded with no link because when the link is lost your operators are not going to be able to see them
