Manually removing probe tips on a scanning head.

Hello all,

My companies newest machine came with a scanning style probe holder( HP-S-X1H) and I am unsure how to remove the probe manually. while it is new I would like to know this for when we need to do preventative maintenance on the styli or the holder and also so I can remove the master probe without having to assign a slot on our probe holder for it.

Is this possible?

with a touch trigger probe its pretty simple and I am hoping it is simple for the scanning head as well.

Thank you,

  • As Redneck stated, you have to "peel" it off. I usually get my thumbnail in the gap, and slowly "peel" it off.

Attaching it is a "snap" motion, lining up the magnet locations. Then pushing the Probe Enable button 5 times or so.

Another option, create a "NO_PROBE" and have it drop off all the probes so the head is empty, Then you can manually remove from the rack.
