How do you go about creating a width, for a position callout, on a surface with draft present. When creating a width the features must have opposing surface vectors however, when a feature has draft the CAD nominal vectors are not perfectly opposed. Normally I would create a midpoint between the surfaces and report the position of that point but when MMC is applied it wont calculate bonus tolerance. Are there any solutions for this?
What I typically do is find the midpoint and points on the surface. Create a distance dimension between the two surface points. I then create a generic circle using the midpoint and the distance dimension as inputs.
PC DMIS could use better tools for drafted parts.. For example, Angle points need to be implemented better.
