Create a width on a surface with draft

How do you go about creating a width, for a position callout, on a surface with draft present. When creating a width the features must have opposing surface vectors however, when a feature has draft the CAD nominal vectors are not perfectly opposed. Normally I would create a midpoint between the surfaces and report the position of that point but when MMC is applied it wont calculate bonus tolerance. Are there any solutions for this?

  • What about creating 2 opposing points. Then create 2 generic planes using the XYZ values of those points and for the IJK of the planes use eg 0,1,0 / 0,-1,0

Edit: I don't think this will work in GEOTOL, as the generic features won't contain points. Instead create offset points from the opposing points, then construct planes for each side using the opposing points and their offset points.
