Probe file recovery

Long story short. Hard drive died and all data was lost. My only real issue is probe files. Does anyone know if there is a way to extract all the probe angles, names etc. from our previously existing programs?
The programs are all saved on our server, but the probe profiles were not backed up. I'm looking at having to rebuild every probe manually so any tips would be appreciated.Slight smile

  • Make sure your PC is not going to sleep, sounds like your PC is going in to sleep mode which can force the controller in to an error with having too many connections or shut down the TCP/IP connection completely.
  • I think it's an ITAR thing, but every computer here automatically logs out after 15 minutes of inactivity. I'd have to ask my boss to confirm this. I don't think that's the issue. I got the TCP/IP error this morning so the sleep function is probably the source of the TCP/IP connection issue. The tech doing the calibration said the same thing this morning when I was talking to him. hopefully I don't have anymore issues. Thanks again for all the tips and advice yall. Slight smile

I thank for this advise many years ago.

This seems to be a lost thought to CMM programmers new and old, create backup files and place on flash drive or a network location for everything you need for times like this. At a minimum backup your ".PRB", ".DAT" and ".ALN" files as it can save countless headaches and hours.
