Before anyone gets upset, I really did try to search for the question before submitting it. I'm sure its a question thats been asked a million times before so I am surprised that i sis not find it. Anyways, I would like to start doing contract programming, but I am told that the software is like 15 grand yearly-and yeah, I dont have that kind of money. Someone in my programming cirlcle (been a PC-DMIS programmer for over 20 years now) told me that they rent the software on a monthly basis as well. Is this true? And if so does anyone know how much it cost?
think of it this way: let's say you do spend the $15k to get a license. How much work do you have lined up now, that will allow you to get your money back in a year?
I think it's good that you want to branch out and do some side work. But realistically how much work do you think you can drum up to pay yourself back for the license?
