I’m still very new to PC-DMIS and programming in general so I have no idea what the options are for my question:
Can you program offline using the Online Seat of PC-DMIS (Version 2022.1) if there is NO air supplied to the CMM? We only have the Online seat because the Offline seat is about 13k.
We’re a small shop with only one shift, so the compressor gets turned off when the boss leaves for the day. When I know I’m gunna do some programming remotely from home after work I’ll ask him to leave it on; this isn’t always practical so I’m looking for a workaround.
I’ve seen older posts on different topics mention a dedicated air supply by using a dental air compressor, does anyone have any experience with this? Is there actually a way of offline programming with the online seat if there is no air being supplied to the CMM? Is there a setting that can be changed?
I am not sure if this is still allowed or not within the software, but you can try and create a shortcut for the software that adds "/f" at the end of the target:
You have to right click, make a shortcut of the PCDLRN.exe file onto your desktop, then right click that icon, go to properties and add that tag at the end of the target. Again, I am not sure if this works anymore or if they've locked this down. I have been programming with an offline seat for 7 or 8 years now so all I have is my three online seats and one offline seat. Let me know if that worked.
