Iterate and Repierce CAD issues upon VIEWSET change

When using Profile of a Surface through the Geometric Tolerance command, the Iterate and Repierce CAD option does not work if the viewset has been changed. I have tried recalling the correct viewset and alignment before dimensioning, but the only way to obtain realistic results is by shutting off Iterate and Repierce CAD.

I'm measuring a part in one orientation, having the operator move the part, and continuing measurement. I'm working with different viewsets so the operator can see how the part should be oriented through the Graphic Display Window. The Geometric Tolerance command does not seem to repierce the CAD in the correct viewset.

Are you aware of this or is this intended behavior? neil.challinor

  • Do you have more than one instance of the CAD model in the routine? How are you changing the part orientation - equate alignment? Can you send me the routine?
  • I do have two instances of the model, one transformed from the other. I'm simply having the operator perform a manual alignment for the second side and reestablishing datum features.

In each viewset, only the relevant CAD is active (through CAD assembly). I recall the initial viewset and alignment, define datums from the first side, and report. I then recall everything from the second side, redefine datums appropriately, and report.

I can send you the routine if you have a file share link.
