"extract from memory"

Does PCDmis have the ability to extract all points collected from a continuous contact scan for individual features to be constructed? A supplier has informed me that they use Mcosmos to do a scan and then extract the points using a function called "extract from memory" and construct dimensional features from that. i know PCDmis can generate a TP scan but that would be to time consuming for my application.

  • In a sense, you can. PCD allows you to construct features from scan segments. The common features are lines and circles.

If you want to get just the points from a given area of a scan, there is a trick of creating a pointcloud from one or more scans. Then use a pointcloud operator to select points in a given area. From that selection, you can construct a conventional feature (plane, circle, line, set, etc.).
