Can't Import Inventor (.ipt) CAD files

When trying to import a .ipt CAD file I get the following error. We're running 2020 R2 CAD++. Is there something more we need to purchase or do I need an Inventor license on the PC i'm running PCDMIS on?

  • Hexagon gives you (for FREE) the ability to import models with the 'neutral' IGES or STP/STEP extension. Export it to either of those yourself from the native CAD software... OR if you can't, ask your engineer to do it for each CAD model you need.
IF you need/want to import CAD files in the native format - as you wanted to do in Inventor .(ipt) or maybe Solidworks .(sldprt) or NX (.prt) or Creo (.prt) or Catia (.CATPart) or ::::::::: Rolling eyes
Then you gotta ante up for the module (CAD file extension) your company uses. If memory serves? I recall it was about 5K (that was for NX, and I told our director it wasn't needed) although it would have been cool to have it.... I guess Sunglasses
