Why Is My Machine Erring????

Hello, hope all is well with everyone. I'm kinda losing it over here. Programming a part and everything started off fine. The issue started when it would make a hole I programmed. It was stopping .300" before the feature and trying to probe there. My coordinates matched print, but it just couldn't get to the hole. So I tried a few things and now when I set my Yminus clearplane to .-25 to come out of the readpoint hole and probe the plane...the machine just keeps traveling back until its out of limit.

Any ideas as to what is going on??? I'm going mad. It's a simple part but things are goofy. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

  • I got everything to work as it should...i dont know what the issue was. Just feel really dumb because the part is simple and it took me all damn day to get it and it still needs some tweaking. I restarted everything and it was ok. I use a sheffield? Discovery cmm. Its 15 years old and it does some goofy stuff. At times it will not manually travel in the positive axis only the negative...and everything has to be restarted. The iffiest cmm i have ever used.

Anyway, thanks for all the insight for future head scratchers.
