High STD in 1 tip during calibration

Hello all.

I am getting 0.009+ mm of std while calibrating a tip in my global DEA. This is the case with only this tip/probe:

The 0.5mm balls are giving good results while the 2x40mm styli not.

The setup is as follows:

TP200 Renishaw head with a standard module.

I have tried more thna one styli / module / star config... Still not good results.

Based on REnishaw's instructions I don't see the styli being too long or too big for it to work...

Any ideas here guys? Thanks in advance for any input

Hi constadin,
I would say the horizontal length is to long for a TP200 SF.

This is nice info thanks For some reason it is tough to find this lol:

EO module also does not do the job... so effectively a 40mm styli cannot be used in star shape on tp200 right?

What is strange is that I have another probe that is also 40 mm but with a ball dia of 6mm (not the 2x 0.5 though). That one has around 0.004mm std even if it is heavier (stem and ruby are bigger and heavier).

Well in any case, 30mm is the max they suggest so I got my answer
