Hi all, recently we only use clearance cube as it works perfect for our complex parts. We do not waste any time, however I did notice that collision detection is not working properly. It shows a lot of errors where actually the program will work fine. It look like the collision detection does not recognize the clearance cube. Any solution ?
While not really germane to the problem he is having.... Yah clearance planes and avoidance moves are good. Once you get past that you can graduate to avoidance moves and just move points.

your question was answered..if clearance cube isn't working then go to clearance plane or something else. clearance cube is cumbersome to use & most real programmers shy away from it.
you didn't even post your code...do you want us to diagnose your program issue by looking through our magical pc dmis crystal balls? tone down with the attitude lil' guy we're trying to help you here
I myself do not like clearance cube, it adds a lot of time to the program. Spend a few extra minutes in the beginning with individual avoidance moves, once you get used to it you can cut a lot of time out of your routines. Collision detection isn't always accurate, especially as forementioned if you are using a star probe.

This will depend on the version of PC-DMIS that you are using the Clearance Cube? There have been some improvements made with the clearance cube in the latest versions 2023 especially 2023.2. With the latest version the Clearance Cube and Move Sets are working as excepted with the collision detection. For the use of the collision detection is another issue in itself and I only use the collision detection to find any close calls of a collision. Now this will vary with different cad models, probe builds and the version of PC-DMIS you are using the Clearance Cube with collision detection. My personal reason to use Clearance Cube in the latest version 2023.2 is to take advantage of the Mini Routines. Another setting you can test is the Collision Tolerance settings within the Probe Utilities.
