Getting previously measured data into excel

Have a program that has been run with complete data and then SAVED AS to a new PCDMIS PRG to retain that data. Now I'm trying to reload that data (no problem, I just open that pdmis program copy) and run that data so it loads into an excel file. And there's the rub. I see the excel options under the PRINT REPORT dialog box, but I can not get PCDMIS to rerun that data into an excel file. There must be a way to do this, but it beats me. Any help is appreciated.

  • Im not sure, if this works for the excel option... but for .pdf we go to File-Menu in the top left of the screen, there are some Print commands in a sub-menu. One leads you to the Print Report Dialog Box and the other one let you run the Print Report, at least this works for active Printer and .pdf options.

  • I see that option, but I can nor get PCDMIS to run the saved program INTO excel. I see there was a FILE>EXPORT>EXCEL option to run PCD2EXCEL script, but help says that no longer works and gives you a new option that I can also not get to execute anything. It's like you're setting the template for a future run, but I have the data now in it's own saved PCDMIS program. Anyone? Is this black majic?
  • Can you not just place your cursor on or before the script command then execute from cursor option>?
  • Your profile says your running 2015? I was never able to get the excel export work even in 2016. But report output did work. (sometimes)

Below are the steps for that. You can pick whatever options work for you, but sometimes getting the data into a sheet and then using a new sheet in Excel to massage just what you want is easier.
Keep note of the file locations as they can get wonky. Also had it fail sometimes if you set it to open the report when done.
Then just open your report window and hit print, it will generate the PDF then the Excel.
