After edit window dispeared.

Hello All

My high speed CMM lost edit window, no matter what I did, it did not come out. What should I do? Reset account first or reset product first?

Thank you

Here come from Hexagon tech support:

How do I recover the PC-DMIS Edit Window if it has disappeared?

    26-May-2018•Knowledge Details

To recover the PC-DMIS Edit Window you will need to reset one of your PC-DMIS user files.

Note: in PC-DMIS 2016 and higher "WAI" in the paths below is replaced with "Hexagon".

In Windows XP please go to the C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\WAI\PC-DMIS\ current version folder.

In Windows 7 go to the C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\WAI\PC-DMIS\current version folder and rename the gbarstate.dat file to gbarstate.old.

Launch PC-DMIS and see if this eliminates the problem. If the correct file was reset PC-DMIS will open up in Summary Mode so please click View and select Command Mode if that is the usual Edit Window view.

    Windows 10 is C:\Users\AppData\Local

  • So, this works, but it also resets all my toolbars. When I restore using a backup from a computer that everything is working fine...the edit window disappears again.

    It's a little frustrating.

  • Can you find the edit window at all or is it completely gone? Like can you see even a tiny corner of it?

  • Try plugging in a second monitor, then using the windows display settings you can drag the location of the second monitor around in space and try to find it. (sounds kooky but does work) Once its been found and returned home you can save a new window layout.
