Lines have wrong vectors

Hi all,

This error is driving my crazy guys. I even updated the software but it still there (potentially my fault, however all operators struggle too). Basically when we create lines sometimes (most days) lines disappear. What I mean by that is I can't see black line on the CAD model however after clicking on F9 you can see that path line is OK, but vectors are incorrect. Why is it doing this itself ? I know how to fix the vectors, but I do not want to go there every time.... Surely I am doing something wrong, has anyone came across this before ? See photos

  • Is the surface vector of the model correct?
    What format are you importing?

    Do not know how to check if vector of the model is correct.. Can you explain please ? I also attached picture with trihedron so maybe you can say something. We only use .step

    When you click on the surface does the line always snap to the inside of the model before you "correct it"?

    Someone please jump in and explain how to verify the surface vectors, I have not had to do that since I learned that iges fixes them on import.

    I also have this problem from time to time.

    The quickest thing you can do is click next to the radius so that it finds the right line, and then set "depth" to the correct distance.​
    I think your problem is that pcDMIS doesn't have a proper CAD edge to catch at the position where you want your line

    Your second picture has the depth set at 2mm. So, theoretically, the machine is trying to probe those coordinates 2mm into the part.
    Hence why it doesn't visibly appear, it's beyond the CAD face (inside the part).

    Turn off cad graphics and see if the line appears to confirm.

    I've had issues with auto lines where they just fubar themselves. I've dismissed it as an "undocumented improvement", and resorted on occasion to just generate auto hits and construct the line I need. lol.
  • Lines can be problem children most times, I try not to use them and just use points then construction if necessary.
  • Is the surface vector of the model correct?
    What format are you importing?

    edit/graphics display window/cad vectors. is the location to fix or modify cad vectors.
