Different probes in one program

I use RENISHAW TP20
I don't disassemble anything, I just change the probe that is with the module.
I know that if I disassemble and assemble the probe to the module, I have to calibrate it.
FYI...I have no problems with measurements.

In that case, as long as the contact points and seats are in good shape on your modules you will be fine. 

If you do not have a dedicated master probe then you WILL need to re-calibrate your probes with one of the ones in your program set up as the master. 
We ran our 7.10.7 like that for its entire life with no issues (other than improperly related probe calibrations)

Although technically if everything was properly calibrated then the "master" doesn't have to be used within your program.

We were not fortunate enough for our boss to purchase us a dedicated master probe, so we just had a lil white board stuck to the column on the machine that said the current master probe so the operators could use that to re-locate the sphere if needed. 

Thank you! I have a master probe, but I don't use it in programs, only when I need to recalibrate the probe. There are 3 other probes used, 4 by 20, 2 by 20 and a star probe.

Not off hand sorry. I'm sure there is a study someplace. 
You are lucky to have your master probe, it will make your life much easier! 

And also, your boss IS (technically) correct, you will degrade the accuracy of your program by using multiple probes. You will be adding together the measurement error and uncertainty (standarddev?) of all the probes used vs just that error from a singular probe.

However as long as your machine has a current cert, and your modules are in good shape, and your getting good results from your probe calibrations... Just don't worry about it!!!

Also when its time for your boss to owe you one, get a probe rack. If your changing probes frequently it will more than pay for itself quickly. 
Just take something to bite down on when Hexagon takes you into the accounting office to unlock the privilege of using one.
