How to measure curved slot length

I have three curved slots in a part.  The slots round ends and the entire slot is curved around a diameter.  Picture three slots around a diameter, spaced 120 degrees apart.  See pic below.

For some reason, whoever drew this did not show the ends of the slots as round, but you can see where they're at by the 6X R.115 callout.  My question is, how in the world can I measure that angularity callout.  It looks like it is where the slot ends are and not the origin of the radius of the slot ends.  I don't have any clue how this is gonna work.

  • so it looks like the R.115 is referencing the datum C cylinders individually.  probe the six R.115 cylinders then the 3 adjacent datum C cylinders.  populate the angularity callout.

if it plays with you try both 3d feature callouts (cyls) and 2d feature callouts (constructed lines) but dont mix and match.  let us know what happens.

that dwg could definitely be better...

  • I have personally not tried this, but have you tried using a constructed curve? You'll need to create a constructed set with the hits first, or do a scan for a curve construction can work. Curious if it is accurate.
