Hey Guys. So we have a customer with some pretty specific requirements when it comes to CMM Programs. In the SOP they gave us they have a point density requirement table. Obviously the point requirements change depending on the size of the feature. Is there a way in PC-DMIS or in the measurement strategy editor to have the number of points change automatically with the size of the feature? Maybe put in variables or something to that effect?
Would it be possible to be able to create/set something like this in the MSE?
SCANSPEED = (feature diam ± probe diam) / 5
Min number of points / mm = (UPR * 7) / (diam * pi)
Linear scanning (min seven points/hits per wave) where the number of hits is based on the cutoff length
(result either in max distance between hits or min number of hits / mm).
Preferrably, this should be calculated automatically by the MSE, based on the active tip diameter.
