How to flip axes on a program

We have a really long fixture that we use for tacking up our parts that is calibrated.  We lay it down so that the length of the fixture is in line with the Y-axis on the machine.  However, one of our engineers wants us to consider standing the fixture up so that the length is now on the Z-axis and calibrating it that way (who knows why?).  Our large 15-20-14 DEA CMM might be able this.  It will be very close to the machine's envelope/limits.  Anyway, would it be possible to take the existing program and somehow modify it so that the part length is now in line with the Z-axis?  I thought about transforming the part, but that won't transform any of the features/dimensions in the program, so I'm not exactly sure how to do this.  I really don't want to have to write a new program....
