Importing CAD no Coordinate System over original program

Dear PC DMIS Wealth of Knowledge

I'm importing my new CAD model over my old program. it looks if (to me) there is no Coordinate System on the imported model because I have to spend time aligning the model to the program.

and I rarely get close to a good alignment because the new imported model is way off the orginal program

Used to be a way to do this quickly but its been to long and I  forgot.

Thanks

Patrick.

  • I think you're attempting to add a new CAD model to an old program that didn't have any CAD. Or you have a cad program which needs to be updated with new CAD model. If it is so, then start a new routine and import new CAD, set the origin on it as per your old program primary alignment using CAD transform option. Save the routine at a particular location then open the old program and import cad. Browse the new CAD program saved location and import the CAD model. Then you will have your new model in accordance with your old routine. Wisely choose the option for merge & replace.
