Hi - New user filling in for a co-worker that recently passed. I am programming offline for a cnc gantry machining center. My question is how to match cad axis to machine axis.. In the pic the white line with dot would be the machining -Z- axis .
Thanks
The most simple way, in my opinion, is to open the model in its
native cad software and transform the trihedron there so that it is
already facing the correct way when you import it into PCD.
If this is not possible, PCD has cad transformation tools. Go into
operation/graphic display window/transform. Using this dialog box, you can
rotate your model about the trihedron to square your model to the axis of the machine on your screen
If you are dealing with multiple models, there are a few extra steps you may have to do, if that is the case
check back and I will do my best to help you through. This should get you going in the right direction at least
