probe tip not measuring correctly

recently i bought new ruby ball tips for my portable romer omega arm. in my nievity i thought that different dia ruby tips could be screwed in and used with exisisting probes e.g using a 5 mm diax10mm in a 6mm dia probe. when i measure it still thinks i have a 6mm dia ball in the probe. can i change anything in pcdimis which recognises that its a 5mm ball in the probe?
  • "I was thinking if I could get my arm data opened up and change the probe number so I do not have two #3's it might have fixed my issue"

won't work. the #3 status is hardwired into the resistor.

"...but that itself lead me to my next issue. It appears I do not have an "armdata" folder"

You do. otherwise the arm wouldn't work.

ROMER Omega arms use GDS not CimCore Arm Utilities.
  • You should be able to do a plane or cone calibration for the new tip also if you don't have a sphere. Sphere is BEST but plane and cone will calibrate also. We had a bit of trouble loading up a small size probe tip but we finally got it done. We had to do a plane calibration first on the new tip before any other (cone) would work.

I'm not totally familiar with the Omega arm, read read read on calibration.
  • Hi everyone,

I started working with a romer arm recently but I'm not too familiar with workflow, so I need some help. I've got two male, two female and the 15mm probe on my kit.
The male and 15mm probe are working fine. The female probes have got not tips and the Arm Utilities doesn't recognize them at all.
I have a 5x21mm tip to apply but I'm not sure if I can use a file on armdata and rewrite it or if I need to a make a new probe file to recognize the probe.
Cloud someone help me with that?
Other related question, on armdata folder I've got a pile of files and I'm struggling to understand completely the structure and the meaning of all file parameters.
    what is the PLOC PCOD?
    Sorry for my english.
