PC-Dmis Versons

Does anybody know what is the best version of PC-Dmis to use with Romer arms is? I have two arms, an Infinite & a 3000i that we use. We have been using PC-Dmis starting with ver 3.7 & have used every version since then.

There has been problems with every version that comes out. In 4.2 I had problems with true positioning not reporting correctly. Starting with 4.2 mr1 we have had the aux keyboard & keypad 3 open up every time we startup the software or change to a different program. It gets very frustrating to here that that will be fixed in the next version only to find out that something else is out of whack now.

  • If 3.7 was working and with very few bugs ( all version have some issues), why change to a newer version ? I say to read the release notes and see what has been specifically addressed in that release, if it doesn't address any of your problems, skip it. Wait for one that does, if ever.

I think that is sage advise, Jim, having been witness to new version instability issues over the years. But, it used to be that if you chose to "leapfrog" versions by declining the SMA renewal that they would make you pay any missed renewal fees to upgrade to the current version. Is this still true?

My contract expires this month and v4.2 is stable on my arm - for the most part. I am currently contemplating the benefits of renewal with its big fee...

    Thanks -
