Cad to part comparison

I seem to have a problem getting them match up, i bring in my Cad Modal and take the Aligh hits on the Modal and the do the same to the part. what am i missing here?

  • After you're alignment, do you do a "CAD Equals Part"? Once you do that, watch the screen and bring your probe over to the part. Pick a couple noticeable features to bring your probe close to. See if the probe on the screen is at the same point in relation to the CAD. If it isn't then you have a bad alignment. If it is, then you should be ready to program some points. Some people like to turn on the "Find Nominals" and then start measuring points manually. The software will compare the measured values to the CAD and find the closest nominal point. Personally, I like to bring up my auto features window (CTRL+F) and select the vector points, circles, slots, etc on the CAD that I want to measure, then go back and measure them when I've selected everything I want. You have this luxury since it's a manual machine and you don't need to enter in move points and clearance planes. I reccomend turning Auto Trigger on before any vector points you measure, so that subsequent parts measured are at the same locations. I use a tolerance window of 0.2mm for my auto trigger. Trigger plane should be on for any holes, slots and sample hits used as well.
