Exporting STP files from PC-DMIS...???

I have successfully exported STP files for import into my CAD system.Slight smile HOWEVER, IF the program includes a 'scan', the export FAILS without error. It simply creates a zero length file and exits normally.Confused I DO have the check-box for "save scans as points" checked. IF I delete the line(s) for the scan(s), It saves the file as STP appropriately.Confused

Anybody have any ideas on this?

I am being requested to provide both IGS and STP formats of my reverse engineering processes. I CAN accomplish this (so far) in only ONE methodology.....reboot between the two different exports of my program!

If I open my program in PC_DMIS and immediately EXPORT it as IGS, all is well with the world. But, if I attempt to EXPORT again, I typically get a zero length file as a result OR a windows message of a file sharing violation AND the zero length file. If I then re-boot, I can accomplish the same in reverse...EXPORT the STP file and then cannot successfully export the IGS file.

Jeeeeez Lewweeeeezzzzz! I cannot believe that the creators of PC_DMIS would be that fouled up on software internal 'housekeeping' to not allow successive exports!

I have even tried closing out PC-DMIS and re-loading different files in between the attempts at exporting....no joy.

I get ONE shot at the file type. But it 'appears' that I CAN do multiple exports to the IGS file type, just NOT change file type!

    Anybody have any ideas?

    Thanks!
