Hi my learned colleagues.
I haven't posted on the forum for quite a while (at the point where I knew everything i needed to know i guess!)
Anyway, i have years of experience with PCDMIS on our cmm, but we have just bought a romer arm with pcmis portable to run it. Anybody give us a heads up for likely issues that may arise?
Any feedback at all would be greatly appreciated!
Read the Portable section in the Help files, especially the "pulled hits" topic that is very important to understand when measuring your initial alignment and "Probe trigger options" used for "auto features" and to get the best possible final alignment.
While using with PCDMIS Portable, try not to use the "Guess" features.
I would strongly suggest select the features that you wanted to measure prior to measuring the part.
For inner circles, remember to End Feature inside the hole, for outer circle, End Feature outside the shaft.
For any first hit on any features, try to have the probe normal to the surface of measurement.
Some tips for PCDMIS Portable, hope it helps.
Another recommendation would be to use the Quick Start window. This allows you to see how many points, Workplane or feature selections, and quick access to some aligments, constructions and dimensions.
