PCDMIS on Romer and Leitz

So my company just purchased a Leitz laser tracker with PCDMIS and we are updating our Romer to PCDMIS. The purchase came with onsite training, which we should be recieving within the month. I am proficiant with the Demon on my CMM, but I was just curious what the differences are between the CMM to the Leitz and the Romer, and what are some points I should have Hexagon focus on during the week that I have them. Thanks for any suggestions.

As far as the Romer goes, it mainly just takes time getting used to using the arm. It also depends if you are programming for yourself or others. When you start programming, you don't have to worry about moves, but you need to setup the program so that it is easy to identify what features are to be inspected. I name all my features so that they can understand what needs to be inspected.

I haven't used a tracker but I have found that no matter what the device is, if know who to use the software you just need to get around the new piece of equipment.
  • Thanks for the response, definately keep that in mind.
