romer problem

I am having problems with getting good readings on the romer. I have calibrated the probe a couble times now. What i am getting is if i take a edge point straight up and down with the romer it is giving me .050 off when i take it at a 90 degree angle it comes out ok. If i take three points as a plane with the romer straight up and down its right although the points themself are also off??????

  • Can you attach some pictures of what you're doing? I want to be sure that technique is not the issue. Note the attached picture.

^ this is, of course, referring to the correct technique used in the creation of a Measured Point. It doesn't apply Auto Vector, Auto Surface, and Auto Edge Points...we are usually typing in our XYZIJK and not 'finding' them with good probing technique.

When you talk about taking an "edge point", what exactly are you referring to? Can you send me a pic of what you're doing?
