Need to get the Z dim for this part in 8 different places. The hole in the lower left is my X and Y origin. The pin in the front center is my Z origin. I would like to do an auto hit but dont have a clue as how to se that up. Also, I tried to make a plane and a point on the top of the pin but when I set the probe on there the z says .062 I thought that was my Z zero? Help apreciated, customer wants parts, Thanks Bryan
And another thing as long as I dont have an answer yet. The fixture will be fixed to the table the Romer is on and the part locates on the fixture. Do I have to take hits for alignment every time? Every part ? Seems like there should be a faster way.
What size probe are you using? Are measuring a point or are you just looking at the Probe Readout window? If you using the probe readout window and you have a .125 tip for a the probe, your alignment is OK, because the probe readout window is reading the center of the tip. The machine does not probe compensate when using the probe readout because it does not know which way to compensate. If you measure a surface point on top of the pin with 3 prehits it should measure zero within reason.
I think I have the auto hit feature worked out.....the parts Im checking are way off now, back to the tool room. Anyone know of a way to fix this problem below now ? Thanks, Bryan

Glad the development of this part is taking so long. Playing with the Romer I see there is a way to start the program from where you place the cursor. My question, does it assume the part is in the exact same location and level like it was during programing ? Like I said above, the part and fixture cannot move. Bryan
