I'm trying to check a roughed out part to finished model. I have to make sure that there is enough material around the part for finishing operation. Is there a way to do this in PC-DMIS? Does anyone know PowerInspect?
Just align it to the FINISHED datums (is they are finished) and everything should check "+T DEV" when you check it.
If the datums are NOT finished, you MUST know how much stock was left on them. If they left 0.010", then all you need to do is align with that in mind. So, if the base SHOULD be Z0 but is Z-0.010 (because they left stock on), then that is what you pick it up as.
