Nominals are changing once in a while when I rerun the program

We recentely purchased a new version of PC-Dmis 2012 mr1. I've written a few part inspection programs and verified / ran them on different parts. I am seeing the nominals change every once in a while when I just run a program or more so when modify a program by adding a new dimension to the program. It doesn't seem to affect the new dimension, just random dimensions on the report which causes me to have change the nominal back and then refresh the report.

I experience this to a greater occurance when I run programs that I had created using 2010 MR1.

The 2012 MR1 program was installed on a brand new laptop.

I was told that 2010 MR1 had some memory leaks and that was the cause of the nominals changing. Does 2012 have the same issues too? ( we upgraded to get rid of the nuissance of having to shut down and restart every 10 -15 minutes of use on the old system )

I am two having the same problem lately, I have been creating new programs with 2012 mr1 and yet my theoreticals are changing on me. so when I fix them back to being perfect it will throw my alignments off and cause me to all over. No clue why...good luck and let me know if you find out about anything.

I have noticed this in the past when only one alignment was used in the initial setup instead of a rough alignment and then a final using auto features. When i started programming arms the same way that i would a conventional i noticed i had less issues. Give it a shot and let me know if it helps.

Only suggestion I would have is to make the Target Values the same as the Theos. I had an issue with that just recently and that's the only way I fixed it.

+1 on programming like a conventional. Even more so because of the inherent less-accurate nature of portable cmms. Manual technique cannot trump machine drive...

I use multiple alignments to "iterate". Many times I will have variables assigned for some nominals, but recently learned that if I used them in the theo, I also had to use the same in the target... It fixed a similar issue for me.

I dont know that it has so much to do with the "less-accurate" aspect of the arm but the fact that they are typically sold under the impression that you need no alignment or a super simple alignment to measure. Now as that statement is true to some degree, if you want something to be repeatable you need to take the time to make a proper alignment. The new quickstart menu does allow for you to lock in/align quickly but that first alignment is more times then not just a "rough" alignment that needs further improvement to acquire the proper results. I stand behind the fact that arms have their spot in some work environments and can be used by people with little knowledge by the user depending on what the measurement/application is. Just my 2 cents

I am also using 2012 MR1, and have been since January 2013. Just recently, in November I have been having some theoreticals change when I run the feature for the second time. It only changes on round features, not points. It is doing it in multiple programs.

When you are noticing this are you doing just one alignment? If you are doing two alignments are you using auto features? Read the post I had above, I have found that if you follow the theory that is used in conventional programming in which you have 1 rough alignment and 1 final alignment using auto features it tends to usually take care of this.

Are you using a full alignment. pcdmis has been known to change nominals if not using full alignments (level,rotate,orgin). Even though alot of drawings may not need you to lock down six degrees of freedom. maybe post some code
