I am new to the forum and to the leica tracker using Pc-dmis 2012 mr1.
I would like to know how you create an alignment using 4 points for a plane,
a hole for origin and a slot to create my line for direction.
As I am using a manual T-Probe to measure, what is used to drive or find the proper point. as of know I am using the Probe read out window,
to find the X&Y axis and measure my "Z" axis but is is never right on the proper nominal.
I hope you understand what My question is. Thank You for your help.
The xy position is not very important for a Z plane. Just measure the 4 points to represent the plane, then level on it and origin on it. Measure the slot and the circle, creat the origin XY on the circle. For the slot, you should check if the axis is the slot axis, or if it's a line from the circle to the slot.
Hi, I should have mentioned that the "Zoints are not flat, the part is on an Angle. Therefore if i am approx. 5mm away from nominal "XY" it does not give me my true "Z". Thanks for your help.
I'm not sure to understand, but I think you mix flat and horizontal. if so, you just have to level on the plane, and then , if you want, re-measure the plane with the good xy...
Your T-Probe if I remember correctly understands the I/J/K vectors relative to the tracker through the probe cal and the position or direction of the probe. If I remember right it follows the same ideals of a portable arm. Also I wouldn't suggest using the slot as the rotation as they are somewhat inconsistent. If you have to do as Jefman suggested and measure the circle and the slot and create a line between using that to rotate from.
Hi, Yes you are right I did Mix up the flat with horizontal. Thank you for your reply. I was able to re-create the same alignment on a CMM machine and I got the same results as the Leica Alignment. Thanks Again.
