Can I inspect this feature and how?

I am unsure how to measure the feature called out as .058 MIN, ALL THICKNESS, located in the upper most view.

I am running PC-DMIS CAD 2011 MR1, with a Romer arm, no scanner just probes.

Is there a way to scan with the probes along both sides and then measure the closest point in the two scans, or is there a better way to measure this?

Thanks

  • I would just use a point/ball micrometer. The thinnest points will tend to be in the most aggressively formed areas, so focus on the radius where the print calls this out. In my opinion this is not a job for the CMM.

My recommendation: check your first few pieces with a mic in several places and find where your low point tends to be. After that, check the rest of the lot in just those couple areas.
