Edit Window not staying active

New to the forum and was hoping I could get some help with an annoying problem. I'm currently running PC-DMIS 2011 Pro on 2 different machines. I'm using a Total Station (TDRA 6000) with the PC-DMIS for measurement work on the shop floor of our equipment. We don't write programs because our measurements are typically one offs and not needed for multiple reproductions.

Here's the problem. As we take shots we typically hit F9 so we can edit the name of the point it just took for organization and clarity reason. Now after hitting F9 and editing our point name we have to go back into the edit window and click to make it the "active window" again before it will allow us to make another shot. Previously after renaming a point it would keep the edit window as the active window and you could continue without the additional mouse clicks. We're not sure what has changed or how it has changed. One of our computers was working normally yesterday and today the extra step is now required. If anyone has any clue what is going it will be much appreciated.

  • It looks to me as if it's the whole PC-DMIS window that loses focus when closing the Autofeature dialog. Just clicking on the Window Title ("PC-DMIS CAD++ 2016.0 etc.") sets the focus back on the EW.

A workaround may be to not F9, but just change then name directly in the EW - view the EW in Command Mode, not Summary Mode, click on the feature name and change it. Then the focus will still be on the EW when done.

The Autofeature dialog is a minor nightmare, some keypresses go right through it and makes things happen in the GW or EW (or somewhere else), try CTRL+Z for example when editing the name. Normal Windows behavior for this is to restore the original value in the field in the dialog - here it zooms the GW to fit...

Also the tab order is screwed, there's no way to get to the OK or Cancel buttons by keyboard only - you must use the mouse!
