Connect to 2 Wi-Fi systems.

The Purge with character limits
  • Are you in range of a WiFi signal? If you are, wired and wireless are two separate connections, so all you have to do is setup your wireless network connection.

If you're laser scanning, you do not want to go WiFi from the arm.
  • WiFi is just less bandwidth (well, maybe not if you're running wireless N or better). But if you're not having problems with dropping data points while laser scanning, then keep doing what you're doing. I'm just surprised your system can keep up while scanning.

Are your WiFi cards both external? Or are you running 1 internal and 1 external?
  • That's something you might want to bring up with IT; your specific setup could make it quite difficult or fairly easy to connect, but if they have things like MAC Address whitelisting, you wouldn't be able to unless they allowed it.
Other things could be set up, but it all depends on how IT has set up your guys' network if you can/how easy it will be to connect

EDIT: I recognize you already spoke to your IT rep, but they would have the answers your looking for. As for only using the wireless, I am no help! Sorry
