True position of a hole

When reporting out true position of a hole it says it's 8 inches out. but if I report out the location of the hole (XYZ) it is in tolerance. My Datum plans are all good also. What am I doing wrong?
  • I've noticed that FCF reporting is finicky at best. Often I will have to remove the FCF dimension and recreate it for it to report correctly. I've also noticed that if you are using a circle as one of your datums (for example I've had several prints that call out A|B|C datums with the C datum being a circle and having the maximum material condition attached to it) then the tolerance for the circle is not consistent and has to be set in the advanced tab of the dimension. The other thing I usually try to do is make sure that my circles are using a sample feature and locked onto the plane they are going through... if you're using cylinders that shouldn't be an issue although cylinders are a bit more difficult to get into tolerance with the FCF depending on the call out... What is your call out and how are you programming the holes?
  • On the advanced tab of the feature control frame builder, check and uncheck 'use current alignment' above the box where you enter the nominals and see what happens.
  • I've had this issue only when using an equate alignment. Hexagon never replied to my email asking about it, so I am assuming it is a known issue. I use true position in legacy mode to work around this.
  • what features are you using to set up your alignment?? when reporting true position are you using Xactmeasure or Legacy? if you are using Xactmeasure does your FCF include all 3 Datums or is it just calling out 1 or 2 datums?
