Colour map operator vs dimension colour

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone else has this issue when using colour maps in PC DMIS 2020 R2.

When i use 'use dimension colour' tick box in the surface colour map box with the same colours set as the colour map profile i get 2 different outputs.

I have attached 2 images to show you what i mean.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this would help to click less buttons when creating colour maps! Slight smile

Thanks

James

  • "Dimension colors" is the color scale PC-DMIS is using for all other dimensions but the colormaps. Select this if you want to use those color for your colormaps as well.

The other way is to use a different colormap that is more granular, or you simply want to have different grading of the deviations.

It's a user choice. Personally, I don't use the deviation colors in my color maps, but I can understand the need for some (one deviation color spectrum for all deviations, color maps and "regular" deviations).
